Thank you for your patience and understanding with regard to the Asian Finance Association Meetings and Conference, originally scheduled to be held in Bangkok from June 29 to July 2.
Over the last week, we sent out emails to authors of accepted papers, and asked them to indicate their willingness to participate, should the conference be relocated to Hong Kong over the same dates. We are happy to report that more than 80% of those who have replied have indicated that they would participate. Accordingly, we have decided to go ahead with the conference in Hong Kong. The program will be shortened by half a day, with the dates from June 29 to July 1.
Since we have lost some time, we are expediting the registration process. The new deadline for registration for authors of accepted papers is May 10. The deadline for “Early-Bird” registration is May 25. Registration and hotel booking forms, along with hotel information can be found here. The full conference program will be announced before end of May.
Here are the full details:
Conference Date: June 29 - July 1 (the program is reduced by 0.5 day)
Program summary: Reception on June 29, Academic programs on June 30 - July 1, closing dinner on July 1.
Location: Except for reception and closing dinner, all sessions will be held at Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST) campus.
Hotel: A hotel (between 4 to 5 stars) in downtown (Kowloon), with a cost of roughly US$120 per day (including tax). The hotel is about 30 minutes away from the HKUST campus. The conference will organize daily shuttle bus service to transport participants from the hotel to the campus. Taxi fare from the hotel to the campus is roughly US$15 per trip.
Registration fee: US$ 350 for early bird and US$400 after early bird deadline, which includes US$85 subscription fee to the two journals of the Association.
